# Add accumulated vacation from the previous year 🌴➕📅

Learn how to **move unused vacation** from last year to the current year using a **manual transaction** in **Rules → Transactions**.

---

### 1) Go to *Rules → Transactions* ⚙️

1. In the **left-hand menu**, open **Rules**.
2. Open **Transactions**.

You will see the history of movements (vacation, worked hours, contract hours, etc.).

---

### 2) Create the manual transaction ➕

1. Click the **+** button (top right).
2. In **Employee**, **search for and select** the person.
3. For **multiple employees**, click **Add** and repeat the selection.

---

### 3) Fill in the fields ✍️

- **Account:** select **Vacation to be enjoyed**.
- **Available from date:** set **January 1 of the current year** (e.g. *01/01*).
- **Value:** enter the **days to add** (e.g. **2**, **3**, etc.). You can use **decimals** if your policy allows it (e.g. **0.5**).
- **Notes:** add context. Recommended example: *"Unused accumulated vacation from 2014"* (adjust the **year** as needed).

---

### 4) Save and verify 💾✅

1. Click **Save**: the transaction is recorded and the balance of **Vacation to be enjoyed** is **updated instantly**.
2. Check the employee's **vacation balance**: it should reflect the vacation they are entitled to for **this year** **+** the **additional** days you added (e.g. **+4** or **+6**).

If you selected **multiple employees**, **one transaction is created per employee**.

---

### Tips and notes 💡

- **Internal policy:** check that your policy allows vacation to be **carried over** from one year to the next and for how long.
- **Traceability:** use *Notes* to clearly state the **origin** of the days (period/semester).
- **Quick review:** after saving, go to the employee's **vacation summary** to confirm the increase.

---

### Quick example 🧪

- Account: **Vacation to be enjoyed**
- Available from date: **01/01** (current year)
- Value: **3** (days)
- Notes: *"Unused accumulated vacation from 2014"*
- **Result:** current year balance **+ 3** additional days.
