# Complete rejected documents

Rejected documents could not be processed automatically. They stay in the **Rejected** status until you fix the file, complete missing data, or remove them.

Needs review documents are different: haddock digitized them but needs you to confirm or complete fields. See [A document has not been digitized](https://support.haddock.app/en/article/a-document-has-not-been-digitized-tqc9kk/) and [Why a document has been sent for review](https://support.haddock.app/en/article/why-a-document-has-been-sent-for-review-k4b35b/).

## When a document is rejected

Open the document or hover the **Rejected** label to see the reason. Common cases include duplicate file, mixed documents in one upload, missing pages, invalid document type, or poor image quality.

Some rejected documents offer **Digitize anyway** or **Complete** from the row menu, depending on the reason and your permissions.

## Complete a rejected document with missing information

When the reason is **missing information**, open the row menu and choose **Complete**. Fill in the required fields and save.

## Digitize anyway

For certain rejection reasons (mixed documents, missing pages, invalid type), users with **upload documents** permission can choose **Digitize anyway** to resend the same file for another extraction attempt. See [A document has not been digitized](https://support.haddock.app/en/article/a-document-has-not-been-digitized-tqc9kk/).
