# How can I limit the allowed absence requests?

In haddock HR, you can limit which types of **absences and leave** your employees can request. To do this, you need to edit the contract by first going to **Rules > Contracts** in the main menu on the left:

Then edit the contract or contracts assigned to the employees whose absence requests you want to limit:

Inside the contract, go to the **Absences** tab:

👏 Finally, **add the list of absences you want to allow** in the option "When requesting absences, only show the following shifts":
