# How to assign a function to an employee 👩‍⚕️

Every employee in haddock HR must have at least one work function.

These functions should match the tasks they perform. They can have more than one (what wonderful employees) and thus cover more than one job, shift, and even different locations.

So that the haddock HR algorithm can take into account what each employee does when creating shift schedules, it is essential to create and assign their functions.

#### 🛠️ How do you assign a function to an employee? 🛠️

It could not be easier.

🔹You only need to go to your haddock HR control panel (where you signed in with your username and password) and open their profile.

🔹Once inside, go to the **FUNCTIONS** tab.

🔹On the right, you'll find a **purple + inside a circle**. Click it and the intuitive panel will open to assign the function to your employee.
