# How to assign a shift wheel to an employee

To assign a shift wheel to an employee, follow these steps:

1. **Go to the Employees section**
Go to the *Employees* menu and select the employee you want to assign a shift wheel to.
2. **Open the employee profile**
Inside the employee profile, click the *Shift Wheel* tab.
3. **Add a new wheel**
Click the **+** button to assign a new wheel.
4. **Select the shift wheel**
In the dropdown, choose the shift wheel you want to assign. Keep in mind that you must have created that wheel beforehand in order to select it.
5. **Set the start date**
Select the date from which the wheel will start applying, for example, **October 1**.
6. **Check the wheel days**
The system will show you the total number of days in the wheel.

  - If the wheel has 7 days, it will be shown as *1 of 7*.
  - You must indicate which day matches the chosen date.

    - For example: if October 1 is a Wednesday, you must select 3. If it were a Monday, you would mark day **1**.
7. **Save the assignment**
Once configured, save the changes. The shift wheel will be assigned to the employee.
