# Users and roles FAQ

### I would like the whole team to help manage the restaurant. Can I give them access?

Yes, haddock is designed so that **the whole team can take part in improving business management.** Invite the chef, waiter, manager... all the profiles that can help increase the restaurant's efficiency.

### How does multi-role work? What can each role do?

There are preset roles you can customize for each restaurant:

**Owner**: The account that owns the restaurant subscription and group. There is a single owner per restaurant, and they can hand the role over to another team member.

**Admin**: Full access to modules and settings. Cannot manage the haddock subscription unless you grant that permission.

**Documents manager**: Upload, view, and edit documents and incidents. Recommended for back-office staff who digitize paperwork.

**Chef and cooking**: Access to **Recipes**, products, suppliers, documents, and **Ordering** for kitchen workflows.

**Management view**: Read-focused access to the dashboard and documents, with sales upload where enabled. Recommended for external accountants or area managers.

Roles are customizable: you can change module access for a role, and that change applies to every user with that role.

### Can users be deleted or edited?

Yes, you can delete or edit a user's role from **User Settings > My restaurants > [Your restaurant]**. Once in the team section, select the member and click the 3 dots in the top right to see the available options.

### Can I change who owns the restaurant?

Yes. Go to **User Settings > My restaurants > [Your restaurant]**, pick the person you want to become the owner from the team, and choose **Transfer ownership** from the 3 dots in the top right.

Bear in mind that:

* Only the current owner can do this, and only to someone already on the restaurant's team. If they are not yet, invite them first.
* Once confirmed, that person becomes the owner and **you become an administrator**. You keep access to everything else.
* The owner is the one who manages the restaurant's subscription and billing.
* From then on, **only the new owner can hand the role back to you**.

### How can I add a new user and customize the role?

Click the **restaurant icon > Add user**. Add the email of the user you want to invite and select which role you want to give them. Click the **pencil icon (Edit)** next to the role to select which permissions you want to give them. They will be sent an invitation by email so they can access haddock.

### What if the invitation does not arrive by email?

**They should check that the email is not in the *Spam* or Junk folder.** If that is not the case, you can access the invited user from the team list and click the option to resend the invitation.
