# What is an FTE?

An **FTE** (Full-Time Equivalent) is a way of **measuring the amount of work** done by a person or a team, **compared with a full workday**. 📊

For example:

- **1 FTE** means **one person working full time** (for example, 40 hours a week).
- **0.5 FTE** would be **someone working part time** (20 hours a week).
- **2 FTE** can be **two full-time people** or **four people working part time**.

It is used to **plan, calculate costs, and manage teams**, especially when there are part-time workers or people with variable schedules.
This gives companies a clear view of **how many "full positions"** are covered. 🙌
