# When are night hours considered?

In Spain, **a night shift is considered** to be one in which the worker performs **at least three hours** of their working day between **10 p.m. and 6 a.m.** In addition, if an employee regularly works during that time, they are considered a **night worker**. The law establishes special protections for these employees: their working day cannot exceed **8 hours of effective work** in a 24-hour period if they perform dangerous tasks or tasks requiring significant physical effort. All to protect their health and well-being in more demanding working conditions. 🌙🕐
