# Which roles can start a document signature with Signaturit

> These steps are for **haddock HR** employee files. They are not the same as purchase invoices and delivery notes in the main haddock **Documents** module.

The action of **starting or requesting the signature of a document** is limited by user permissions.

### Roles with permission

Only users with the **Administrator** role can:

- Start a signature request.
- Send documents for signature.

### Roles without permission

The following roles cannot start signature processes:

- **Supervisors**
- **Employees**

These roles can view or sign documents when applicable, but they cannot start the process.
