👀 What does the Group View show?

The Group View brings together the main results from the selected locations so you can review the group's overall performance and compare each location from one place.

This screen is part of the haddock Dashboard. It is not the Detailed Dashboard, which is a separate report that opens in Looker Studio.

🔎 How to view and filter the information

1. Select your restaurant group and go to Home.
2. Choose the period you want to analyze.
3. Select the locations you want to include. You can show all locations, several locations, or just one.
4. To measure change over time, choose an available comparison. You can also select No comparison.
5. Use the € / % selector to view amounts in euros or as a percentage of sales. Sales is always shown in euros.

The filters apply to the group summary cards, the chart, and the location cards.

💡 The view initially shows the last three months.

📊 Group summary cards

The cards at the top summarize the combined results for the locations included in your filters:

• Operating margin: sales minus food and beverage costs and other expenses for the selected period.
• Sales: the group's total sales during the selected period.
• Food and beverage costs: raw material and beverage purchases during the selected period.
• Other expenses: the remaining expenses for the period, such as other expense documents, staff costs, and purchase lines that have not yet been assigned to a product.

These four cards provide an overall view. They do not show the same breakdown as the individual location cards.

If you selected a comparison, each card shows the change from the comparison period. When the previous period does not provide a comparable baseline, you will see a dash instead of a percentage change.

📈 Sales vs Expenses chart

The chart shows the change in Sales and Expenses during the selected period.

• If you enable a comparison, it also shows data from the comparison period.
• Select View margin to add the margin percentage trend to the chart.
• Hover over a bar or point to see the amount or percentage for that interval.

🏪 Cards for each location

Below the chart, you will find one card for every location included in your filters. Each card shows the following metrics in this order:

1. Sales
2. Raw material cost
3. Beverage cost
4. Staff cost
5. Gross Margin

This per-location breakdown is more operational than the group summary: it separates raw materials and beverages, shows staff cost, and presents the location's Gross Margin.

In % mode, every metric except Sales is shown as a percentage of that location's sales. If you selected a comparison, the amount or percentage from the previous period appears below each value.

Use the arrows or carousel indicators to move between locations when they do not all fit on the screen.

⚠️ Warnings and unavailable data

The Group View may warn you when missing data could make the displayed results lower than the actual figures, for example:

• purchase lines waiting to be assigned;
• locations with no recent sales or whose sales integration still needs to be configured.

Follow the action shown in the warning to review the relevant location.

If a metric has no data for the selected period, you will see No data or a dash. Try expanding the period or reviewing the locations included in your filters.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Why do the group summary cards and location cards show different metrics?

The group summary cards explain the group's combined financial result. The location cards show where each restaurant's sales and main costs are concentrated, so they separate raw material, beverage, and staff costs.

Is the percentage calculated from costs?

No. On this screen, % mode expresses every metric except Sales as a percentage of sales for the relevant scope: the whole group or an individual location.

Is there a fixed 15% operating-margin benchmark?

No. haddock does not compare operating margin with a fixed 15% sector benchmark. The operating-margin trend in the group Expenses view only shows data from the selected periods.

Is the Group View the Detailed Dashboard?

No. The Group View is a native haddock screen for reviewing group-wide and per-location summaries. The Detailed Dashboard is a separate report with more sections that opens in Looker Studio.
