Add ingredients to a recipe costing
Ingredients are added to dish and preparation recipe costings. See how to create a recipe costing.
⚠️ Note: You need the editar ingredientes permission to do this.
- Open the dish/preparation where you want to add the ingredient.
- Go to the "Ingredients" tab.
- Click "Add ingredient"
- By default, the option is to add products. To add a preparation, select that option.
- Click the search field, type the name of the product/preparation, and select it.
- If the product does not already have the purchase format to base unit conversion set up, you will need to do it then. See how to convert it
- Enter the net quantity used for the ingredient. If needed, you can change the unit of measure in the dropdown, for example from kg to g.
- Enter the waste (the part of the product that is discarded). You can enter it as a percentage (%) or as an absolute amount by selecting it in the field. See our waste guide to find the waste percentage or grams for all foods.
💡 Note: The gross quantity and the cost will be calculated automatically.
- Click "Add ingredient"
