Convert ingredients to a base unit (Kg, L or units) for recipe costings

Why?

📦 Converting purchase formats (boxes, bottles...) to a base unit of measure (kilograms, liters...) is essential.

🚚 When working with different suppliers and products, purchase formats often vary, which can create confusion and errors in cost control, recipe costings, and inventory.

🍔 Converting all purchase formats to a base unit makes it possible to compare prices more accurately, define the quantity of product used in recipe costings, and control production costs.

Convert purchase format to base unit (Kg, L, Uds):

  1. Select the "unidad base".

  • Ud → Products that are sold or used in dishes by whole units. Eggs, burgers, soda cans, bottles of wine, etc.
  • Kg or gr → Products consumed by weight or mass. Pasta, fresh tuna, flour, vegetables, spices, etc.
  • L or ml → Liquid products consumed in different quantities. Sauces, stock, beer keg, wine, essences, etc.

  1. Enter the product quantity.

The conversion will be saved on the product, so you won't need to repeat the process when you use it in another recipe costing. You can change the conversion at any time from the product settings page.

  1. Click "Guardar"
