How to normalize duplicate products and group them into one product

If you have several products that represent the same real product, you can use Normalize products to bring them together under one Final product.

Normalize means reviewing those duplicate products and deciding which one will be the main product. The selected products will be grouped under the Final product, keeping their Formats and lines where they belong.

This helps haddock show that product's information in a more organized way and avoid duplicates in your list.

Before you start

Make sure the products really represent the same real product, even if they appear with different names, suppliers, or formats.

Before saving the changes, review carefully:

  • The base unit of the Final product.
  • The final Formats that will remain associated.
  • The lines affected by the normalization.

Nothing is saved until you click Confirm or Confirm and normalize.

Normalize products step by step

1. Choose the Final product

Open Normalize products and select the duplicate products you want to review.

Then choose which one will be the Final product. This will be the main product under which the other products representing the same real product will be grouped.

If you open the flow from Product normalization suggestions, review each suggestion and click Apply suggestion when it matches what you want to normalize.

2. Assign the Formats

Review the Formats detected for each product and assign them to the Final product.

A format can be a box, bottle, bag, kilos, liters, or units, depending on how you buy that product. Make sure each format belongs to the correct product and that the equivalences make sense.

While you make changes, haddock may show them as a Local draft. This lets you review the proposal before saving anything.

3. Review the Change summary and confirm

Before finishing, review the Change summary.

Check especially:

  • Which product will remain as the Final product.
  • Which Formats will be kept or assigned.
  • Which lines will be affected by the normalization.
  • That the base unit is correct.

If everything looks right, click Confirm and normalize.

Remember to review the base unit, final formats, and affected lines before confirming the changes.
