Unify products from the suggestions module

📍 What does unify mean?

📍 When will products be unified automatically?

📍 When will I need to unify products?

📍 Step by step

📍 Products with a match

  • With the same unit of measure
  • With a different unit of measure

📍 Products without a match

Your database may contain duplicate products if products are digitized with significant differences (unit of measure, name, etc.).

What does unify mean?

To unify means telling haddock that a new purchase belongs to an existing product; therefore, once unified, they will become a single product and share the reference price and total purchases.

When will products be unified automatically?

If the products match in name and unit of measure, they will be unified automatically. Otherwise, certain rules will apply to assess whether they should still be unified automatically (95% match).

When will I need to unify products?

When there are matches, but not enough for automatic unification.

🍽 Practical case

A delivery note is digitized in which a new product appears as Soda Z and a suggestion is identified with a product in your database: Soda Zero.

If you unify these products, the system will learn and will not ask you again whether to unify when this same difference appears.

📚 Step by step to unify products

  1. Inside the Products module, click the new product suggestions to unify.

  1. You will reach a list of product suggestions among which we have found similarities so you can confirm whether they are the same product or not.

⚠️ Only users with permission to view and edit products can unify products.

✅ Products with a match

  1. You only need to click the dropdown to unify the new product with one from the existing product base.

📏 With the same unit of measure

If the products have the same unit of measure, they will be unified directly.

❗️ With a different unit of measure

If the products do not have the same unit of measure, you will need to convert them to a base unit and tell haddock what it corresponds to.

🍽 Practical case

Existing product: Soda Zero (1 box) = 16.50€/box

New product: Soda Z (24 units) = 0.68€/unit

The expected conversion is:

1 box = 24 units

🚨 You can undo a unification if you go to the product and separate any purchase lines that are different and therefore haddock allows you to separate.

❌ Products without a match

If the products do not match, we will create a new product that you can see in the Products module.
