๐Ÿงพ How to import shifts from Excel

If you already have your shifts organized in an Excel file, you can import them easily into haddock HR to speed up planning.

๐Ÿ“ Where is the import option?

Go to Shifts > click the three dots button (top right corner) > select Import shifts.

๐Ÿ“„ Excel file format

Your file must have the following header:

Name | Description | Border Color | Background Color | Start 1 | End 1 | Start 2 | End 2 | Groups | Day Types

๐Ÿ“ Explanation of each column

  • Name: Shift name (required).
  • Description: Additional details (optional).
  • Border Color and Background Color: HEX color codes (for example, #FF5733).
  • Start 1 / End 1: Start and end time of the first shift block.
  • Start 2 / End 2: Start and end time of the second block only if the shift is split (that is, with an intermediate break or two work blocks).
  • Groups: Name(s) of the group the shift is assigned to. If there are several, separate them with commas.
  • Day Types: You can indicate whether it applies only to certain day types (working days, weekends, etc.).

๐Ÿ•’ Important about times

Times must be expressed in Zulu format (UTC).

If you are in a different time zone (for example, GMT+2), you should indicate it like this:

To indicate 9:00 during Spanish summer time (GMT+2), write:

09:00+02:00

This format ensures that shifts are interpreted correctly regardless of the time zone.

โœ… Tips

  • Make sure times are in hh:mm+zz:zz format.
  • Colors must include the # symbol followed by 6 characters.
  • Check that there are no empty cells in the required columns.
  • You can download an example template from the import button to make the process easier.
