How to limit the available time entry types
In haddock HR you can define which time types, for example: Work, Leave, or Illness, will be available when a person clocks in.
This setting is configured at the contract level.
Remember that every employee must have an assigned contract, and that the changes you make will only affect the employees linked to the contract you are editing.
What is a time type?
A time type defines the nature of the time recorded within a day or shift.
It lets you classify recorded time according to its type. For example:
- Work
- Rest
- Paid break
- Illness
- Medical appointment
- Travel to training
Each time entry must be associated with a time type. This classification makes it possible to distinguish recorded hours correctly and manage them properly.
How to configure it
- Go to Settings.
- Open Contracts.
- Click the contract you want to modify.
- Go to the Time entries tab.
- Turn on Use only the time types defined in the contract.
- Add the time types you want to allow.
What happens when you enable it
- In the Start clock-in button, only the types defined in the contract will appear.
- In Time entries > Manual time entry, only those same types will also be available.
If a time type is not added to the contract, it cannot be used when making a time entry.
