🥷 Create my first forecast

Step 1: Access the Forecast module

To access the forecast module, go to **"Scheduling" in the main menu **which you will find on the left side of the screen. Once inside "Scheduling", click the "Forecasting" button located at the top right:

Step 2: Import your billing history

First, you need to prepare an Excel document containing the history of your sales in euros. The columns your Excel file should have are:

  • **Day: **format YYYY-MM-DDD
  • Hour
  • Minute
  • Value: sales in euros

Once you have prepared the Excel file, you need to select it from the following form:

🚀 Finally, you need to enter the forecast period you want to generate and the detail level (hourly or every half hour), and then you can click the "Calculate Forecast" button. Once the forecast has been processed, haddock HR will give you a new Excel file with the generated data.

Step 3: Convert the forecast into staffing needs

Now you need to select the previously generated Excel document with the forecast result.

Inside the forecast creation form you will find a very important field called "Rule for creating staffing needs".

This field defines how staffing needs will be calculated based on the forecast data, and you can choose between two options:

  • Rule of three with total target hours:

The system automatically distributes staffing needs according to the target hours defined in each worker's contract.

  • One person equals the following forecast value:

The value you enter in the "Value" field corresponds to the amount of forecast sales that equals one person or FTE (Full-time Equivalent). For example, if you are managing the kitchen team shifts of a hotel and you know that every €1,000 in revenue requires one person, you should enter 1,000 as the value.

🔎 It is important to choose the correct rule so that planning matches your business's real demand as accurately as possible.

Then you must indicate whether there are already covered needs that are outside the forecast and you must select the group to which you will assign the new staffing needs and the operational needs associated with the group.

🥷 And now you can click the "Update staffing needs" button.

👏 Finally, open the group by selecting the generated forecast period to check the results.
