How does time entry overwrite work?

In haddock HR, you can enable an option that allows actual time entries to automatically replace the planned clock-in and clock-out times in a shift. This feature is useful so that the schedule reflects what actually happened.

How do you enable it?

  1. Go to the Rules menu.
  2. Within Rules, open the Contracts section.
  3. Edit a contract.
  4. Go to the Time entries tab.
  5. Turn on the option "Overwrite planned shifts with time entries".

What happens when you enable it?

When this option is active, haddock HR will automatically replace the planned shift clock-in and clock-out times with the actual time entries, as long as the following conditions are met:

  • The time entry is closed (that is, it has a clock-in and a clock-out time).
  • The time entry has been approved by a manager or supervisor.

Once approved, the schedule will show the actual recorded hours instead of the ones that were initially planned.
