How does time entry overwrite work?
In haddock HR, you can enable an option that allows actual time entries to automatically replace the planned clock-in and clock-out times in a shift. This feature is useful so that the schedule reflects what actually happened.
How do you enable it?
- Go to the Rules menu.
- Within Rules, open the Contracts section.
- Edit a contract.
- Go to the Time entries tab.
- Turn on the option "Overwrite planned shifts with time entries".

What happens when you enable it?
When this option is active, haddock HR will automatically replace the planned shift clock-in and clock-out times with the actual time entries, as long as the following conditions are met:
- The time entry is closed (that is, it has a clock-in and a clock-out time).
- The time entry has been approved by a manager or supervisor.
Once approved, the schedule will show the actual recorded hours instead of the ones that were initially planned.
