How to prevent time entries without a planned work shift
In haddock HR it is possible to restrict time entries so they can only be made when there is a previously planned shift.
This configuration is especially useful in environments where planning is mandatory and you want to avoid out-of-schedule records that create issues in time control.
Configuration
The setting is done at the employee contract level:
- Go to Settings.
- Open the employee’s contract (or the affected contracts).
- Within the contract, go to the Time entries section.
- Locate the option “Allow time entry without planned shift”.
- Disable the option.
- Save the changes.

Once disabled, the system will block any attempt to clock in or out that is not associated with a previously assigned shift.
Operational impact
- The restriction applies per contract, not globally.
- If an employee does not have a planned shift, they will not be able to record a clock-in or clock-out.
