How to prevent time entries without a planned work shift

In haddock HR it is possible to restrict time entries so they can only be made when there is a previously planned shift.

This configuration is especially useful in environments where planning is mandatory and you want to avoid out-of-schedule records that create issues in time control.

Configuration

The setting is done at the employee contract level:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Open the employee’s contract (or the affected contracts).
  3. Within the contract, go to the Time entries section.
  4. Locate the option “Allow time entry without planned shift”.
  5. Disable the option.
  6. Save the changes.

Once disabled, the system will block any attempt to clock in or out that is not associated with a previously assigned shift.

Operational impact

  • The restriction applies per contract, not globally.
  • If an employee does not have a planned shift, they will not be able to record a clock-in or clock-out.
