Should trips between workplaces be recorded as time entries?

A common question about the working time tracking law in Spain 👇

Since Royal Decree-Law 8/2019 made daily working time recording mandatory, many companies ask:

🔹 Do trips count as working time?

🔹 What happens if the team works at several sites or visits clients?

👉 The answer depends:

📌 Yes, they count as working time if the trip takes place during the working day, between tasks or workplaces.

📌 No, they do not count if the trip is from home to the first destination (or from the last one back home), unless the role does not have a fixed workplace (such as some technicians or sales reps).

📲 In haddock HR we make it clear:

If someone needs to move during their working day, haddock HR lets you record the reason (for example, "client visit", "training at another site"...).

This gives HR full traceability and avoids errors during labor inspections.
