A document has not been digitized

Documents that haddock cannot finish processing appear under Needs review or Rejected.

  1. Needs review — the file was read, but data is missing or uncertain. Open the document to complete or correct it.
  2. Rejected — the file is invalid, duplicated, or not good enough to process. Hover Rejected to see the reason. Most rejected documents cannot be edited like a processed document.

See Why a document has been sent for review for review reasons and fixes.

Digitize anyway (rejected documents)

On some rejected documents you can choose Digitize anyway to run extraction again on the same file.

When it is available

  • Only for Rejected documents with one of these reasons:
  • Mixed documents — more than one document in the upload.
  • Missing pages — pages appear to be missing.
  • Invalid type — the file type is not supported for automatic processing.
  • You need upload documents permission.

It does not appear for other rejection reasons (for example duplicate, missing information, or poor quality).

How to use it

  1. In Documents, find the rejected document (status filter or Rejected queue).
  2. Open the ... menu on the row.
  3. Choose Digitize anyway.
  4. Read the warning and confirm with Continue.
  5. When processing finishes, the document moves to Needs review or Processed, depending on the result.

What it does not do

  • It does not apply to every rejection reason.
  • It does not change the file before resending it.
  • It does not guarantee a correct result; review totals and lines after digitization.

For documents rejected with missing information, use Complete from the row menu when that action is available.
