Send photos of your documents via WhatsApp

Did you know you can digitize your documents without even opening the haddock app? You can now link multiple WhatsApp numbers so sending delivery notes and receipts is as fast as chatting with your team.


How to set up WhatsApp sending

To start using this feature, you first need to register the phone numbers authorized to send documents that will be digitized in that location.


  1. Go to your restaurant's Settings.
  2. Under the My integrations section, you will find the Phone numbers area. There you can add the authorized numbers to send documents through haddock's WhatsApp.


You can also add numbers directly from the document list: click New document, select By WhatsApp, and follow the instructions.

What can you send right now?

haddock is ready to receive and process your files:


  • PDF files: You can send PDFs with any number of pages.
  • Single images: A photo or screenshot of a receipt, invoice, or delivery note.
  • Multi-page documents: If an invoice has several pages and you send them as separate images, haddock can automatically group them into a single document.
  • Traceability: Once the document is received, haddock digitizes it and in the haddock dashboard you will see a tooltip (a small message on hover) that indicates the exact phone number the file was sent from.


How to use WhatsApp from the new document menu

In the document list, click the New document button and select By WhatsApp. Remember that before sending documents you must have at least one phone number registered in settings.


  • From the desktop, you will see a QR code that you can scan with your phone to open the conversation directly in WhatsApp.
  • From the mobile, you will see an Open WhatsApp button that opens the app directly.


Current limitations

To make sure haddock processes everything correctly, keep the following in mind:


  • No automatic replies: For now, we will not reply to your messages on WhatsApp. To check whether digitization was successful, you will need to review it in your haddock dashboard.
  • Number management: At the moment, it is not possible to assign aliases or names to registered numbers (for example: "Chef's mobile"), so you will see the phone number as-is. You also cannot use the same number to send documents to several different restaurants at the same time.
